The following questions will not appear in the Candidate Comparison Guide, but will be included in your Individual Candidate Guide.
47 How would you ensure the land-use rights of rural Oregon and how would you protect their ability to farm and ranch?
I would actively work for repeal of the Senate Bill 100 that established statewide land use planning, returning land use planning to those who own the land, not those who tax the owners.
48 How do you weigh environmental protections when it has a negative impact on human survival?
Human survival comes first. The world was created to be the home of mankind. The creation mandate includes subduing the earth, not surrendering to the environment. Even an evolutionist would have to argue that progress is made when the fittest survive, not when they surrender to the weakest and the unfit. We have a moral, not legal, obligation to leave things better when we are done with them. God, not government bureaucrats will be the ultimate Judge of how we have done.
49 If you were writing a bill on gun rights, what are the two main issues you would include?
  (1) When the 2nd amendment was drafted the arms contemplated by its ratifiers were equal to military arms then in use. Since one of the purposes of citizens holding that right was to give them an adequate defense against domestic tyrants, the private citizen should have the right to own and use military grade arms. (2) Every home owner and all adult residents of their homes should be required to own and be trained in the use of whatever the militia/national guard members have. It the home owner is a conscientious objector, they will not use the weapons, but they should still have them. The cost of owning these weapons and appropriate supplies of ammunition should be an expense borne by government. All those who cry for gun registration should be happy as they would know that all citizens had them and had signed for their receipt.
