# ISSUE ANSWER
CANDIDATE COMPARISON QUESTIONS
Please answer "yes" or "no" to the following questions. The optional explanations will be included in your Individual Candidate Guide.
1 Do you support drilling for oil and natural gas on public lands and waters? Yes
Government is imposing unreasonable restrictions on oil drilling, which damages economy, costs jobs, and raises price of gas
2 Do you subscribe to the theory that human activity has a significant impact on climate? No
Scientists are divided on this issue. More study is needed. I don't think it's a crisis.
3 Do you support a public audit of the Federal Reserve System? Yes
The Federal Reserve has utterly failed in its mission to maintain value of the dollar. It should be abolished.
4 Do you support banning earmarks? Yes
Earmarks and pork barrel spending have to be stopped.
5 Do you support a balanced budget amendment to the Federal Constitution? Yes

6 Do you support a flat tax on income to replace the current income tax? Yes
I would repeal the 16th amendment, dramatically reduce federal spending, & replace income tax with sales tax.
7 Do you support increasing taxes for higher income families? No
I support lowering taxes on all individuals and businesses.
8 Does the Federal government have constitutional authority to regulate schools? No
The Department of Education is a waste of money, unconstitutional, and should be abolished.
9 Do you support restrictions on the ownership of guns by law-abiding citizens? No
2nd amendment says our right to keep and bear arms shall not be infringed. Sounds clear to me.
10 Do you support the direct election of the president by popular vote? No
Let's not tinker with that aspect of the Constituion right now.
11 Should the Federal government return to the States land it owns for the purposes not authorized by the Constitution? Yes

12 Do you support free trade agreements with foreign nations? Yes
Free trade increases prosperity for all parties to the agreement, if it is properly drafted.
13 Do you support requiring all employers to verify employee eligibility to work in the United States? No
As a former small business owner, the last thing I want is Big Brother forcing me to do the government's job for it.
14 Do you support spending public funds to benefit illegal immigrants? No
I don't support welfare benefits for anyone. However, children of illegal immigrants obviously need to go to school.
15 Do you support the Federal "Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act"? No
Obamacare is an "Obamanation" and should be repealed asap.
16 Do you support preserving Israel's existing borders including occupied territories? Yes
I totally support Israel and think peace can only come when the Palestinians recognize it has a right to exist.
17 Do you support using military forces against foreign nations for non-defensive purposes? No
We should target and destroy terrorist groups, not invade and rebuild entire nations.
18 Do you support laws that exempt government officials and employees from laws that apply to private citizens. No

19 Do you support spending public funds on abortion services? No
I'm pro life. I also think most people should be taking care of their own medical expenses.
20 Do you support replacing Social Security with private retirement plans for future beneficiaries? Yes
However, those who have paid into Social Security are entitled to benefits. Younger workers should be given a choice.
NARRATIVE QUESTIONS
The following questions will not appear in the Candidate Comparison Guide, but will be included in your Individual Candidate Guide.
21 Do you support or oppose sustainable development as defined in U.N. Agenda 21? Why?
I oppose it. I don't like the U.N. interfering with national sovereignty. I oppose a government sponsored green agenda. Alternative energy sources such as wind and solar should compete in the market place where they can succeed if they can cost effectively deliver products which consumers want.
22 If elected, what will your top three legislative priorities be?
Repeal Obamacare, Balanced Budget Amendment, Lower Taxes. Also, if possible, abolish the Fed and return to sound money based on a gold standard.
